World Gym Australia selects Qualified Trainers

World Gym Australia selects Qualified Trainers’ technology platform ahead of Payday Super changes

Qualified Trainers’ group fitness technology platform has been selected by World Gym Australia as its preferred supplier following successful trials across multiple clubs, with the solution now available to more than 50 locations nationwide.

The move comes as fitness businesses prepare for significant operational changes ahead of Australia's upcoming Payday Super legislation, which will require employers to pay superannuation contributions at the same time as wages from 1st July 2026.

Qualified Trainers, an Australian-developed group fitness management platform, helps fitness businesses manage instructor compliance, scheduling, payroll, reporting and workforce operations through a single integrated system.

For gyms, where large numbers of instructors, contractors and casual staff work across multiple sites and schedules, the superannuation changes are expected to increase pressure on payroll, compliance and workforce management systems.

Roger Westerman, Chief Executive of World Gym Australia noted "Group fitness is one of the most valuable parts of the member experience, but it's also one of the most operationally complex areas of a gym business.

"Following extensive testing across a number of clubs, we saw clear benefits in how the platform improved visibility, reduced administrative workload and simplified the management of instructors, timetables and compliance requirements. As we prepare for upcoming changes such as Payday Super, having systems that can support those requirements becomes increasingly important for our network."

The platform centralises instructor qualifications, compliance documentation, timetable management, class cover requests, payroll workflows including Superannuation processing and operational reporting into a single system.

Industry observers say the fitness sector is increasingly moving away from spreadsheets, manual processes and fragmented communication channels as operators seek greater visibility and efficiency across their businesses.

According to Qualified Trainers co-founder Jason Edwards, the partnership reflects a broader shift occurring across the fitness industry.

Edwards added "Gym operators are under growing pressure to do more with less while maintaining compliance, improving member experiences and managing increasingly complex workforce requirements.

"We believe the future of group fitness management is connected, automated and data driven. This partnership demonstrates how major fitness brands are embracing technology to improve operations at scale."

World Gym Australia operates more than 50 locations nationally, making it one of Australia's largest fitness franchise networks. Qualified Trainer will be available to franchisees across metropolitan and regional locations throughout the country.
